I keep seeing excitement for “I thought you were stronger” and all that, but I have seen zero excitement for the invincible war and the death (and redemption) of this badass
Because I’m dreading it.
Man I wasn’t ready for this in the comics. He was such a nice guy redeeming himself. And Jason Mantzoukas voices him so well I just like the voice actor alot
DEREK
ngl it sucked for me when i first read it, but i really felt like it was a great end to his arc, because he’s like finally placed everyone else above himself. loved rexsplode, probably one of my favourite characters in the series.
Brother that’s over a season away lol
Yea I didn’t realize that, I forgot about the order of events
There are somethings that the comics did to paint rex into a positive light before his demise and im not sure we have for doing that if the invincible war is this season

In the comics, Rex was also generally shown to be more of a well-meaning idiot than anything else throughout the series outside of the Eve debacle.
The show has made the whole “Rex is a jerk” narrative in the comics far more of a reality rather than something born from him making a bad first impression that lingered with readers (and the other characters) until he got more focus later on.
The question will be if the show will give his character enough focus to move past his jerkiness in a believable way since they have turned it up by a considerable amount. If Invincible War was to happen this season, then I would be wary on that front.
I think this season they’re doing a good job at still making him a jerk but a more likeable one
Invincible War is a season 3 thing. No way they cram both that & his fight with Levy in season 2.
It’s not that no one is excited, it’s just that Invincible War is probably next season and people are focusing on this season.
Wouldn’t be surprised at all if invincible war happened in the final four episodes.
Contrary to the first season where it slowed down the comics signifigantly im getting the impression season 2 has speed up the comics by a decent bit.
Lmao. Imagine being too hyped about something that you’re too focused on the future instead of the now.
Yea I didn’t think about that until after I posted this
I guess my memory is a little fuzzy on the order of things in the comics, but doesn’t the Invincible war happen pretty soon after this? I thought that’s what they were setting up with Angstrom Levy.
This is why Rex is my favorite character in Invincible
I’m incredibly excited for this to be adapted. I want it to hurt even more than it hurt in the comics. I want my favorite character to heroically sacrifice himself in 4k Ultra HD animation. It’s just that it’s happening next season and not this season.
Maybe episode 7 or 8 of season 2
Because sadly im not. >!rex’s death was so fucked up😭 ik he was an asshole but cmon, he was getting better!<
That’s the point, it shows that not everyone makes it out alive, and I wouldn’t expect them to after this hell of a war
Season 2 is already setting up Rex’s redemption arc, and it’s awesome
Rex blowing himself up could go so fucking hard if they do it right
I never understood how he was able to kill him that way. It didn’t seem that his explosions really hurt him at all up to that point. He can withstand the sun, and being beaten nearly to death by his dad, but a bigger Rex explosion can kill him? Weird.
Also, if they hadn’t planned on killing Rex, I always thought a really cool twist would have been if he grabbed Mark’s arm and just said, “You.”
Better he went out like a g here, cuz he wouldn’t have gone along with Robot’s bullshit and he would have died much worse at his hands.
Rex really grew on me
Best part indeed, getting that fella off the screen was neat
Pretty hype, but Rex is the second worst Character in the show and is so boring.
