1·10 months agoI think it’s just the adaptation to a different medium really. The pacing of the comics during this part wouldn’t translate well to the screen. There are some parts that just aren’t to going to deliver as much tension due to it being an animation that is passively consumed vs a comic that is actively read. If they followed the comic and gave a whole episode mainly focused on the reunion/fight most people would be burnt out by the time the important story parts happened.
Personally I’m really interested to see where they’re going with Donald, I kind of forgot what happened in season 1 since I read the comic so I didn’t know that no one knew he was a robot. It surprised me in a good way.
It’s a whole lot easier to draw a still image with that much blood than it is to animate an entire fight scene with that much blood in it.
We could have as much blood as the comic but we would also have to wait much longer for the new seasons, and the show would cost significantly more so it would probably have only gottrn renewed for one season instead of two.
Not to mention that they would need extremely expensive state of the art PIXAR level graphics processors that the animation studio probably does not have access to or the money for.

If you are poor and can’t afford comic books rn I’ve heard there are ways you can read it online for free and that it’s not hard to find but you need adblock
If you do read it for free I suggest buying copies when you are able to from skybound . com to support an awesome indie entertainment/media start up and have nice additions to your shelves to show off to guests

Yeah they definitely made up for it. I think it was just an early mistake in the writing Kirkman wanted to refine. It really doesn’t make sense that he considered the guardians a threat when it was that fucking easy to kill them all. The show did it much better by having them actually put up a decent fight and make Omni-man collapse from exhaustion at the end.
I’m so hyped for the action scenes and large scale fights that come later in the series.
Yeah, in the comic he just called them all in a room then killed them before they really even knew what was happening. I think it all happened in one page. I remember reading after watching season 1 and being like “that’s it?”.

I guess my memory is a little fuzzy on the order of things in the comics, but doesn’t the Invincible war happen pretty soon after this? I thought that’s what they were setting up with Angstrom Levy.

this happens in invincible??? No fucking way… You’re telling me that the bad guys sometimes have noble intentions and vice versa, and the line between good and evil is often blurred!!! This makes no sense at all, I don’t think we read the same comic.
I think being flamboyantly gay suits his character a lot. The voice actor nailed it.
