I’m happy we’re getting more South American men (Manuel) and Asian men (Nick), but there are still some groups that seem to be ALWAYS male or ALWAYS female on this show. We’ve had countless women from the Philippines, but I would love to see a Philippino man marrying an American. Also, so many women from Columbia and Brazil, yet no men from these countries. Except Jose on the UK series. I would also love to see women from the Middle East/North Africa, we’ve seen a lot of men from these countries but never a woman. We’ve also had a few Indian men, but no Indian women just yet. What are some others you’d like to see?

I mean, I’d audition for the show if they paid me enough to be a spectacle lol. American in Türkiye for work, met my girlfriend almost a year ago. She wants to go to the states but I kinda like it here. We’re pretty boring so we probably wouldn’t get much screen time. She’s Muslim and I’m not religious so it works out pretty well for us.

I think these cultures typically view this show as discussing taboo topics for women. So it would probably be rare to see it. Finding someone willing to break cultural norms, willing to publicly talk about their relationship and the ins and out, opening yourself up to the opinions of others all is usually frowned upon ESPECIALLY for women in some of these more conservative areas

I’ve noticed this too. I think it’s because a lot of these groups are heavilyyyy fetished by Americans unfortunately. Ukrainian, Colombian (or more generally Latina), Brazilian, Filipina women and African and middle eastern men come to mind. Like others said, they probably take what they can get

I suspect cultural norms have something to do with this. I don’t think it would be considered “okay” for women in some of these countries to go online to shop for an american husband. I could be wrong

It probably just has to do with ratios. Like, there’s probably more American men looking for Filipina or Brazilian women than there are American women looking for Filipino or Brazilian men.

One thing that just occurred to me is that the online dating thing tends to have American men and foreign women, while American women meet foreign men on vacation. Countries where a single woman wouldn’t tend to go alone probably explains why there are few men on the show from those countries.

I wouldn’t travel to Morocco, Egypt, or India alone, but we have had several men from those countries with American women. And it’s always worked out so well…/s

Those men are usually the online dating couples, like Brittany (forgot the guy’s name), Azan/Nicole, Oussama/Debbie, etc. But also there’s a lot more visa-hunters in those relationships too (Mohammed/Danielle, Azan/Nicole, Oussama/Debbie, Sojaboy/Baby Girl Visa, etc)

      Well, the sketchier old woman/young boy-toy relationships started online- Angela/Michael, Laura/Aladin, BGL/Usman (Kim/Usman, too).

I think that this program also heavily features white Americans, even we have had some mixed race and black Americans. I would love to see more representation in the Americans who are on this show, especially since we’re such a diverse country.

I’d love to see more representation too. But honestly black Americans are 12% of the population or something similar to that. There are just a lot more white Americans and therefore a lot more willing to sign up for the show. I think they have been actually trying to do more. We have Rob and Ashley this season. We’ve also had Cesar and Brittany.

My husband is Filipino, but had already lived in the states for over a decade when we met. I grew up in the PNW around a lot of asians, and was usually the only white girl in our clique. I didn’t have a close family growing up, and spending time at my Filipino friends houses with all the family, food, love, and acceptance I’d been yearning for my entire life, it was a huge draw. I never shook it. My hubby’s family has treated me like a daughter since day one, and I’m so thankful for it. We will celebrate 16 years in a couple weeks, and I can’t wait for 16 more. Sorry for the diatribe, just got a lil caught up in my feelz!

Bilaal and Shaeeda is the only season I know of wifh a Muslim woman . But they’re both Muslim though

Basically from the religious view of Muslims a marriage between a Muslim man nd a Christin or Jewish woman is valid but only a Muslim man can be Islamically married to a Muslim woman and that’s why you’ll find more Muslim men on these kinds of shows

We got a muslim woman, the one with Bilal. Of course he was muslim, too. Otherwise it couldn’t have happened anyways.

I think that’s another issue, those couples have more drama. My husband is from India, we met 15 years ago when he was here for business. People would fast forward through our segments because we lead a pretty average life.
