The book in question is, “ Bang Like a Porn Star: Sex Tips from the Pros”
Happy cake day
💀💀💀💀
Will they also ban books by ex-presidents who slept with porn stars?
Most libraries don’t even buy that one, which is weird if you think about all the books with slander they have about him.
I work in acquisitions for a major metropolitan library and George Soros personally writes me a check if I order at least ten socialist titles a month teaching children to be gay and hate Donald Trump.
How do you know the buying habits of all libraries around America? The library I go to has plenty of bullshit from talking heads from both parties.
Such as?
He’s a shit poster. Ignore him.
It’s not slander if it’s true.
And since we’re arguing semantics, it would be libel not slander (assuming the damaging statements were false).
Haha you actually think he actually ever wrote a book!
Look up what the real writer of the Art of the Deal has said about him, if you want to learn something for once
I lived in that county and just recently moved over the summer back to Illinois. I know one of the librarians, and she is so sweet and nice, and I kinda know some of the workers, and it’s been hell for them. Shit got crazy there awhile back when a random lady said one of the workers (a man) was dressed like a woman. I have no idea if this person is trans or what, and I don’t care. She went berserk and caused a huge scene. Wanted him fired, I think? Counter protesters showed up, and it’s been stupid ever since. It’s like every month some right winger wants to wage a war with the library.
I’m so glad I now live in a state that bans book bans.
wow, that situation sounds like a total mess. it’s crazy how these book bans can cause so much drama. glad to be in a state that’s chill with it.
USA banning more books
To ban a book it would have to be illegal to read, purchase, or download. None of those things are true. No such book ban exists.
You’re a coward.
Why?
Google search: book ban
Book banning, the most widespread form of censorship, occurs when private individuals, government officials, or organizations remove books from libraries, school reading lists, or bookstore shelves because they object to their content, ideas, or themes.
In an era where you can download a PDF or get 2 day shipping, that isn’t really applicable.
“In a world where i can just steal it”
Fuck off
Per Rule 2.1: Please conduct yourself in a civil manner. Do not use obscenities, slurs, gendered insults, or racial epithets.
Civil behavior is a requirement for participation in this sub. This is a warning but repeat behavior will be met with a ban.
What is going on in America? In Germany, if such a book had so much demand they’d make a joke about it and consider buying a second exemplary (what would take 3 months due to bureaucracy)
Maybe a side note on the local newspaper would be released or a bookstore next to the library would run an ad that they have the book in stock.
Yeah so a lot of people in America sympathized with the Nazis, like important and prominent people.
Literally if the Japanese didn’t attack Pearl Harbor, we would never have entered the war.
Also, we took in a lot of top Nazis for prominent government roles immediately after the war.
On top of that, the pilgrims, the people we like to pretend founded america, came here because they thought that England was too lax on religious intolerance.
Very odd on a lot of that. But to focus on one, the pilgrims left england because of religious persecution. Pilgrims were Protestants whereas England is Anglican.
The pilgrims should have been persecuted harder, it would have saved a lot lot of trouble down the line
Very tolerant.
Too lax on the wrong religious intolerance.
We have those rooms in USA as well, students also aren’t allowed unless they’re helping the teacher to grab the 30 copies. I’ve only seen it once myself, but I was never really the kid the teacher asked for help.
When I went to school in Rheinland-Pfalz we did have a library…
we ought to file it under education
“Kuhl added that the book was initially purchased five years ago because “it was the only item readily available at the time about sexuality and sexual health for gay men”.”
I bet there’s other books aimed at hetros there that was just as explicit.
Wow most of these books are tame and were required reading in school. This really saddens me.
