Steven Yeun knocked it out of he fucking park this episode, the amount of raw emotion behind every word mark says to Nolan is just perfect
Same with JK Simmons. The power on these two actors is insane. Perfect casting.
Before the fight scene, when Mark and Nolan were talking, the voice acting seemed off from jk. The blunt one word answers were really flat or something wasn’t right
I agree but I think it’s direction of just Nolan not knowing what to say or believing in his words. After he breaks down and grabs mark by the throat, when he speaks there you can feel he means his words so much more.
He is honestly such an amazing actor. From his role as Glen to his performances in Burning and Beef. It is cool to have a fellow Korean actor that is almost always casted as a Korean character. He’s amazing as Mark and I really loved the emotional depth he gave this episode
And Minari!
Man more people need to check out Burning. One of those movies that really sticks with you for a while after watching, trying to figure out the meaning. But agreed, Yeun’s range is absurd
Beef is possibly the best TV show I’ve ever watched, dude is insanely talented
That scene during worship at the church where he is just so overwhelmed and breaks down is peak acting

Sandro Oh has been killing it as Debbie as well. Her scenes are so impactful and emotional.
“Fuck you. Just…fuck you.”
Reminds me of Debbie’s “Fuck you, Nolan.” from last season.
It’s the quiet and/or emotionally exhausted f-bombs that always have the best impact to me. It always hits hard.
“This was all you?” The way Mark sounded brokenly hoarse from the getgo, and caught me by surprise.
“Bringing me here…The Thraxans said they needed my help…” Everything he says after carries the weight he has been suppressing for the last 3 episodes. He sounds so heavy, tired, empty and wounded, especially his hushed, “Why?”
He flares into justified anger just as well. Then, with no time to process anything, he has to cycle through a very dizzying wheel of emotions as life changing revelation after revelation and more murder and more murder is heaped onto him again.
