This has been bugging me for years. What is up with the Omni-Man/Nolan Grayson secret identity thing? Meaning, Omni-Man is the world’s most famous superhero, and no one notices he looks identical to worldwide travel writer Nolan Grayson?

In both the comics and the show, it’s not like Nolan was a recluse. He was a family man who lived in the suburbs and by all accounts was friendly with his neighbors. He had a publisher, a job.

Normally, stuff like this doesn’t bother me, but since Invincible is famous for exploring well known comic troupes, I’m shocked it’s never come up. Yeah, I know the answer is “because comics!” but wondered what you all thought?

It’s one thing to not expect your classmate to be a superhero and not think about it. Or the random guy in the office you work at. But if Nolan Grayson is famous enough to be well known, there would have been one of those pictures comparing celebrity look alikes and he’d be found out. Even just a picture of him on the back of the book would be enough for someone to go "Hmm he looks a lot like Omni Man and it would spiral from there.

Yeah but the show doesn’t take humans reacting to superhero antics seriously as the infamous “they never look up” notion is applied to 99% of them.
