It’s not so much Cullen or Brown, it’s that they’re clearly doing their Optimus and Luthor voices. I’ve seen Clancy in a gazillion different things, both animated and live action, and he’s 100% using his Lex voice here.

To be fair, it’s really hard to have a show only discussion since 99% of the questions or topics have a spoiler answer from the comics. Even something simple like “I really like so and so’s relationship” or “I love the character of X” will inevitably lead to “Well, in the comics.”
It’s like watching a movie you’ve seen a million times with someone that hasn’t, and they’re asking questions during the whole thing.
I even see a lot of “No comic spoilers please, but XYZ?” when the only way TO answer is to spoil it.
I’ll admit I didn’t see it coming. A lot of people either forget or weren’t reading when it first came out, but even the entire premise of the comic was itself a twist. It was heavily marketed as “It’s hard being a superhero when your Dad’s the most famous hero on the planet!” or even a slightly updated version of the “teenage hero” troupe, and we all thought that’s what we were getting.
So when Nolan did what he did, it was like “Okay, this book is going somewhere totally different.”
Honestly, at the rate this show’s going, it’ll be a a massive superhero fight instead with none of the context where she beats Mark in combat and then it poorly adapts why he feel’s emasculated .
Not really. He knew his heroic “I”m here to help” was bullshit, but had no idea of the sheer scope of Nolan’s plan.
Not defending him, but at that point all he saw was a tool to keep the world safe.
You should probably look up what a serial killer actually is. Dudes not writing letters to the press or jerking off to his victims nor has a compulsion to kill while torturing animals.
