They missed a lot of opportunities for amazing parts in this last episode. Like the if you’re lucky enough to hit one of them, strike again immediately, I absolutely loved that line. Or the fact that the scene changes from day to night at one point, making the fight seem even longer, I’m not really stressed about the other story lines bc that’s how it was in the comics, the entire viltrumite invasion on thraxa was three issues at least, maybe that’s what made it seem longer. But this fight was pretty short and underwhelming from a comic reader standpoint, they fought across the entire planet of thraxa in the comics, they kinda just fought like boxers you don’t really get to see that viltrumite brutality and ferocity. Everyone is a little disappointed in Lucan’a design but it’s not terrible I would’ve rather his old design, his entry when he announced himself to mark in the caves was ominous and frightening in the comics, I didn’t feel the same way watching this. That Lucan chase when mark isn’t sure if they’ll survive was super intense another missed opportunity.I understand it’s an adaptation and it can’t be 1:1 all the time but I don’t understand some of these changes.
I don’t get why they choose to focus on Debbie’s and Donald’s storylines instead of Allen’s.
It would be a good way to hype the viewers up for the second part and would work better as a parallel to the Thraxa story. The audience would see that not only Nolan is changing but also >! that it’s actually possible for a Viltrumite to be good !<. And the confirmation that Allen is now >! On the Viltrumites’ power level !< would let show onlys curious to what’s gonna happens next.
Focusing on Debbie’s actually made sense, in my opinion. Including Donald, Eve, and the Maulers was the big mistake, in my opinion.
