What book have you read that wasn’t subjectively “bad” but you regrets reading all the same?

For me, Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. The book was engaging and it kept me on my toes, but I just with I hadn’t “poisoned my head” with all the graphic gore that was in there. I years later i still think about this and how I really wish I had never read it.

Question inspired by a comment /u/PrincessOfWales made in another thread :)

When I got to that part I actually had to go back and read it like 3 times because I couldn’t understand what was happening. Which I think was the point, like when you’re in a situation like that, it IS sudden and confusing with a lot going on. Definitely one that sticks with you!

Yeah, same, it took me 2-3 times to fully grasp what was going on, and I think you’re right about it being intentional.

The part that stuck with me the most was the part about the foot. I can’t get that image out of my head and I get chills everytime I think about it.
