I like that the diverse Cartman was actually funny. Like setting up the computer just to play Baldur’s Gate and calling Kyle’s mom a fat bitch.

Unlike so many modern characters that are just hitting the diversity quota with nothing to offer but cliches and end up pushing stereotypes even more.

This is what truly takes this special to the next level. By bringing in a ton of diverse voice actors without compromising the essence that makes the show exceptional, they skillfully incorporated these differences to craft even funnier lines. Diverse Cartman genuinely felt like the genuine Cartman throughout the entire episode and then solidified it through the Baldur’s Gate gag.

Trey and Matt basically put this together as a fuck you to Disney “this is how you add diversity without sacrificing characters and telling an interesting story”

They did good with Diverse Cartman, but the DiverseVerse still felt a bit too different. It was more, I guess, “urban” than the main universe, and that kind of undermined the main message. Thankfully it wasn’t in focus too too much.

Wait WHAT? That’s what you took away from this and not the fact the joke was shitting on Disney just replacing characters with minorities without changing anything?

That was the whole point of the Spider-Man line. He’s cool because he’s different and has backstory. Black woman Cartman is stupid af because it’s just black woman cartman.

I’m kind of amazed how you could get that so wrong.

That was just scratching the surface. That’s so obvious that even those with IQs below 80 got it. It’s so evident that it hardly requires mention.

On the topic of voice actors…

Did anyone notice the voice of the Latino handyman that stopped in front of the Home-Depot? The recording of that guys voice sounded subpar… it sounded like it was recorded on the street or something. Idk…

Not really. They parodied the trend of raceswapping characters instead of creating new ones, and then calling the audience racist for noticing (just like PC principal did).

It works in South park because it’s a comedy and the nonsensical nature of the situation is a perfect fit for an episode, but you probably wouldn’t watch a whole season of this where all they did was raceswap the characters and didn’t use that as a joke but actually went with it.

This is also a bigger fuck you to people who call woke all the time. Sadly to many people are going to think this is in support of their constant whining of wokeism.

I imagine them writing diverse Cartman like it’s just normal Cartman, which makes it so much funnier

My only complaint is the rest of the Diverse Boys kind of got sidelined. They all had really good designs, so I wouldn’t have minded seeing them be more prominent.

I loved that too. I did find myself thinking that I wish Cartman still said and did some of the stuff diverse Cartman was saying and doing to show she is just like Cartman. I found myself a little nostalgic for an older version of Cartman. Like the “na na na na na na ha ha ha ha ha ha” and the Kyle’s mom’s a big fat bitch, and the farting, saying “butt fucker,” etc. Overall, I truly enjoyed diverse Cartman.

I don’t know why I genuinely believed she was going to fix their problem, I felt so stupid when she finally turned on Baldur’s Gate. Like of course, this is still Cartman. Got a good laugh out of me

Then when she lost her save file and was just like “noooooo”, the diverse voice actor nailed the delivery on that line

Given how many times they mentioned it, i would have been disappointed with any other outcome than Cartman just booting up BG3
