In the Comics he goes on to explain that he could not kill Mark(as his time on earth changed him) and fled Earth.

Then as a logical conclusion, because the viltrumites will eventually come find Nolan and also Earth he decided to conquer another planet as compensation for not conquering Earth. But then as he spends some time with them, he realized it wasnt just because of Mark that he couldnt conquer earth but also because Earth had changed Nolan. Realizing this he understand why he is attached to the thraxxans and then goes on to protect them. So here Nolan made an honest mistake by assuming he can successfully conquer other planets because is viltrumite, but later on to realize he is now also somewhat human and eventually failed to conquer Thraxxa.

In the last episode tho he just looks like a selfish asshole who just let the Thraxans die because he was careless and kinda selfish, even tho he was broken. What do you guys think?

Idk if you know this but Omniman is a selfish asshole. It’s been what a couple of months since he did that to earth and mark? He is going through introspective thoughts and guilt yes but even in this episode he is still that selfish asshole just 5% redeemed. You notice he didn’t even apologize to mark or even mention Mark’s mom. Mark even calls him out on signing the planets death warrant. He is a complex character. The show is gonna take their time redeeming him cause it’d be lame if they didn’t. Yall need to let the show be the show and see how they do it, have faith in Kirkman.

    I don’t agree

In both scenarios he was acting carelessly and selfishly, even after thinking he cared for them. He could have left once he started feeling for the thraxxans. But he stayed and doomed them to death.

What’s confusing is how the viltrumites knew where he was, and how Nolan knew that they knew.

How dare you question the great writing of Kirkman? How dare you question how realistic it is to forgive your father after beating your ass and using you a human cheese grater!!! How dare you!!!
