mark was getting clobbered by fucking maulers 3 episodes ago now he’s able to beat a full grown soldier viltrumite that’s been conquering worlds for millennia just because he “stopped holding back”. Even Nolan who got hospitalized by the guardians while soloing them, only suffered a cut on his head fighting THREE viltrumites!!! Just makes them look weak in comparison. I feel like they shouldn’t even have any chance winning that battle at all, not alone surviving in better condition than against way weaker foes
I just think the comic implies and the show implies that Mark has an untapped gear he can occasionally put himself into but just simply doesn’t think he is capable of doing what he ends up doing. He doesn’t realize how powerful he is.
It’s a parallel with Eve.
It’s also probably good to not think too deeply about any of this power level stuff, it’s not consistent. It just isn’t.
Omni-Man can barely take out the guardians(maybe he let himself get beat up?) But he can also take direct hits from missiles and destroy entire planets single handedly.
Come to think of it, it’s mostly a show issue. The comic is more consistent. Although probably not perfectly so.
