Not sure if I feel bad for Danielle because of the bait-and-switch she supposedly pulled after they got married, and the timeline is not clear. Do you think Yohan started cheating on Danielle only after she told him that they were going to stay in the D.R. (instead of moving to USA like he wanted)? Or was he cheating even before that?
I lived in a Caribbean country that had their own version of Sanky Pankys, and the thing is they aren’t like covert. After spending a week in the country, you walk into a room or down the street and you know who they are. They are scammers trying to get with people for money, goods and the like or to leave the country.
The people who come to have relationships with sanky lanky types aren’t like somehow taken by surprise. I often watched tourists come specifically to find partners for the week or life. They are searching it out on purpose. They get partners who are disproportionately better looking than them while still holding the power due to the fact that they have more money than the person trying to get the money.
And so Danielle and Yohan were two side of that game. Each played/used the other. I don’t have real sympathy for either. Their marriage wasn’t like a love marriage but a transaction. The transaction went badly because neither held up their end of the bargain.
