Just found out that the editor in chief of The New Yorker, David Remnick, and Bill Maher are childhood friends. It is stated that “He attended Yavneh Academy in Paramus.[6] Remnick was also a childhood friend of comedian Bill Maher.[7]

We all know that editor have the power to alter articles to fit their direction.

Do you guys think the hit piece on Hasan Minhaj was orchestrated by Bill Maher’s team. I know he and Hasan already had beef due to criticism Hasan made about Bill regarding his takes on Muslim issues. And Bill probably does not want him as the host of the Daily Show or as competition. Ever since John left, Bill’s show over took the market and now Hasan would have presented a serious threat.

Interesting twist. I also noted that the writer of the New Yorker piece has written puff pieces for Candice Owens (and weirdly didn’t fact check her lies) and the CEO for Warner.

Not sure if Maher had a specific ask for it, but he had a clip on his recent episode about it and basically dragged Minhaj.

So it clearly must have stuck with him. Additionally Maher’s show has shifted right quite a bit.

So OP’s bit about the friendship and connection there doesn’t do much for me. I could see there being a connection but it isn’t definitive nor damning to me. However… this is a bit concerning. A lot concerning. Very concerning.
