Hi everyone, I just recently finished the entirety of the Invincible comics and I am absolutely dying to discuss them with people! I mean first off wow, I was blown away by how good they were reading them was genuinely a life changing experience. I’ve never read a story with a character who felt so real and changed by the story as Mark was. I thought the artwork was amazing and I throughly enjoyed almost every arc in the series. I also really loved the ending because Mark really deserved it after how much Kirkman tortured him (five years was insane). As a huge walking dead fan I kinda assumed I had read the pinnacle of Kirkman’s work but I have to admit I think Invincible has dethroned it. It’s been a long time since I’ve read anything so hard to put down and the questions I’d love to discuss are endless. To ramble off a few: Why didn’t we see Debbie’s death? What moment from the series surprised you the most? Were there any twists that you predicted before they happened? When will I develop superpowers of my own and more importantly when will I get my own redhead superhero girlfriend???
If I did have to pick a single question to discuss in addition to the ones above I would ask who’s on your personal Mount Rushmore of Invincible characters? Whether you wanna do the strongest or just your favorites I’m curious who people would pick, although I’d say top 5 instead of 4 like the actual mountain. Thanks for reading everyone and I’m super excited for season 2 of the show to start soon!!
I predicted Robot would go bad for YEARS - all his side eyeing in early issues had me thinking it would go that. That being said, was still shocked when it went down.
Yeah I was surprised how far gone he ended up, like I thought he’d be like an anti hero of sorts but when he ripped Eve’s leg off that’s when it hit me like oh he’s evil evil
Cecil talking down to him, and his cold response was kind of a giveaway. I was shocked by the brutality more than the turn. He pulled an omniman.
My personal favorite is Space Racer. Just because his entire character is silly, out of place, and he’s such a passive observer to the drama, I found it humorous.
His only real history is Nola beat the shit out of him, but whatever, that’s in the past, he’s cool with it now.
I wish they did even more with him. There’s so much potential for humor with his insane weapon blasting through literally everything. I want to see a hole through all of Earth! I want to see some random alien culture 1,000,000 miles away get their leader blasted into oblivion from a random shot.
Sure Mark got his happy ending but at what cost? What cost!?
It cost him nearly everyone he knew. His mom, father father, his half-brother, most of his friends.
Yep “happy ending” indeed. Especially when one of your children was conceived of rape.
