Bojack is so intricate with details and you see references from the last season to the first that were obviously intentional, so many hidden gems, this shit was definitely completely written out before they started producing the first episode.

Imo. The best substitutes isn’t his regard. Are moral Orel and succession. They both have the writing, emotional depth and awareness of greater societal influences (religious conservatism in Orel and billionaire entrepreneurs in succession as compared to Hollywood) with deeply layered characters and situations that manage to draw viewers in with the tragicomedy esque tone.
