I help my family when it’s needed, but not that much. It’s probably around $50/month and sporadic.

I’ve had similar conversations with my mom. She used to complain to me about my stepdad when he was alive, and I complain about my husband to her. It’s a safe place for us because we know the other won’t say anything to anyone. I discuss my disabled BIL living with us, the frustrations that go along with that, our finances, buying a home, babies, etc.

Her main complaint is that she can’t go out by herself because she doesn’t know the language. Why give her a pass on learning Hindi when no one gives a pass to anyone else here who doesn’t learn the language spoken in the country they move to?

In some cultures, you have children so they can take care of you. That’s just how it goes. Indian culture is very similar.

Meh. They’re ok. He was demanding sex after she had flown an entire day to see him. They both eat with their mouths WIDE open and talk while they’ve got their mouths stuffed. They’re young, but these are things even 13 year olds know.

That’s correct. Over $4,000. I just did a basic Google search, and they do have a lot of apartments for around that price. They could have found something much cheaper, though.

Same thing he thinks of himself - nothing. He doesn’t think for himself, stand up for anything, speak up, etc.

The “te amo” didn’t hit right. She had plenty of time to say something other than, “I love you” in Spanish. She’s not going anywhere. It was never a temporary situation for her.
