BoJack also had a lot of power over Penny. Age, celebrity status, bigger body… we will never know if perhaps Penny felt like she couldn’t say no and went along with it. That wouldn’t be grooming. Sounds like what happened to me as a kid, which was coercion.
All in all, never felt sorry for BoJack in this plot line. He fucked up big time.
So I did not like Ana Spanakopita the first time I watched through. I started watching BoJack the season she was introduced (S3) and always disliked her character. Then when she played the tape for Diane in a couple of seasons later, I felt less dislike for her. She added a lot to the story doing that, and that was never a plot line in which I felt bad for BoJack. He got what was coming to him and I believe that moment was a turning point for Diane- it was a big point in her reevaluating her friendship with BoJack.
Also, Jessica Biel. She’s annoying and I always hated when she was onscreen. Katrina lost brownie points when she became her campaign manager. Also, she ate Zach Braff! I was a big Scrubs fan as a teenager!
Todd is definitely my least favorite of the big 5. Some of his plot lines were just so pointless and felt like they were supposed to be comic relief at times but rarely made me laugh. That being said, Todd’s “fuck” hit me the hardest of any character’s.
There’s already a character in another show if BoJack wasn’t famous. His name is Frank Gallagher.
Hey, I mean, I think it’s pretty sick! It’s no worse than the tattoo I got of a freeze frame from “Stupid Piece of Shit” where BoJack is crudely drawn.
Ha. The family friend thing sounds like my situation and didn’t even connect those dots. I remember the first moment where I think he stood there debating if he was gonna assault me. Poor impulse control, history of extensive trauma, unchecked anger issues and substance abuse… those are all risk factors for committing acts of sexual violence. BoJack would definitely have let his impulses get the best of him if Charlotte didn’t walk in.
