These two are going to have a lifetime of monotone conversations.

Hate it. Art is not just representative of itself, but is a snapshot of the time, culture and society it was created in. To “modernize” a piece of art is to strip away it’s context, and to diminish it’s value.
This is some biblical shit. Maybe it’s a sign bro.
Gotta be honest, I’m pretty disappointed in season 2 so far. Even disregarding the nearly 3 year wait, I’m just kind of baffled at the way the writers have spent their time given how limited an 8 episode season is. Like, the fact that in this episode we spend almost as much time following Debbie wandering around being sad as we do with Mark and Nolan trying to save a planet is kind of absurd. Then you’ve got things like the Atom Eve and Donald storylines, which I can’t see why anyone is supposed to care about.
In general, this first half of the season has kind of felt like filler. Nothing has really happened. Even something that should have mattered like Mark finding Nolan and the battle on the bug planet, ended up just essentially setting things back to the status quo (Nolan has disappeared, Viltrumites are coming and Mark’s not strong enough).
Long story short, this season has been a resounding “meh” for me so far. My hype had already kind of petered out after the long wait, and these 4 episodes haven’t really done anything to reignite it.
Honestly, there is a whole lot of filler so far this season. Like, how much time has been spent on Debbie’s therapy tour? I’m not saying it doesn’t matter, but do we really need a multiple sections of every episode dedicated to her loafing around the house and crying?
I generally don’t mind slower paced episodes, but when you’ve waited two and a half years for a season, and there are only 8 episodes, spending time on things like the mom going to therapy, Mark moving into a college dorm, and two side characters trying to sneak into a movie really drags. Hopefully it picks up soon, because it doesn’t feel like much has happened yet and there is only one more episode before the mid-season break.
Also, I’m kind of surprised at how basic the animation is for a show that has been so long in development and the resources of Amazon behind them. Like, during the flash back in this episode it was a straight up slideshow.
In fairness, Jovi has never made a secret of how he lives, and it’s how he met Yara in the first place (travelling and partying). Yara’s the one who expected the leopard to change it’s stripes.
Normally I find the whole “person moves to new country and immediately bitches about the living arrangements and wants to move” thing, but she has a point here. This dude lives in a shithole. Running water isn’t some big ask, it’s the bare minimum.
Does Asuale have emotions to cheat with? I’m semi convinced that if you opened up his head it would be as hollow as his beloved coconuts.
Dude needs to quit it with the piggy shit.
