Did we watch the same show cos she did not struggle at all, she was toying with him for fun until he threw the car.

Invincible lampshades comic tropes but is ultimately a pretty standard (minus the gore) superhero story. The boys used superhero aesthetics to tell what is ultimately a story completely uninterested in superheroes as a comic or movie genre they’re incomparable on that front imo
I don’t understand this take at all, we know that she’s barely functioning and desperately trying to get through the day in the show, we see her struggle and her triumphs through the struggle. The comic handles her so much worse, they tried making her independent with the real estate thing but it was given so much less screentime than her being an alcoholic mess and >!then mothering Oliver and then it goes fully to shit when Nolan comes back and then she turns into a sex-crazed gag character!<
So far the show has massively improved on pretty much everything its touched, very hyped for the rest of the season. Love love love what they’re doing with Debbie (Mark is such a piece of shit for not telling her he’s leaving though) and William. Thaedus being literally Optimus Prime is very distracting though.
I don’t think she needs to be meek and codependent to fall for Nolan, I mean no Superhero girlfriends really are (think of MJ or Lois Lane), maybe she’s a bit naive but that’s a trait that carries on in this as well. I genuinely hated what they did with her in the comics, like by far the worst part of the book for me, this show is doing her so much justice. Honestly I really hope they don’t make up.
