I’m reading it right now and I rather like it. I guess not everyone likes the romance part of it, but if I recall correctly it was advertised as enemies to lovers right?
Wonderland and Narnia. Also Britain in Susanna Clarke’s world in Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell.
Babel because it wasn’t what I thought it was. Too much repetition, so I DNF it. I’m just pissed that I spent $30 when I could have just got it from the library. I love fantasy that involves magic and language, Babel was not what I thought. Language is barely mentioned while overshadowed by politics.
Yup, mine was Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti. Loved their books and then I grew up and realized their books were just like any other Christian fantasy novels.
I just picture them with people that I know in my life. Sometimes if a character reminds me of someone and they will look like that someone from my life. 🤷♀️
Suggest that she journal what she read and wanted to discuss in two weeks. That way she won’t lose what she wanted to discuss while allowing the rest of book club to read the book in two weeks time.
I was gonna suggest you to memorize their voices and then I realized we are in books subreddit and was like oh, he means visualizing their face when reading characters. I honestly thought you meant in real life.
