He was absolutely more than a few kilometers away most black hole event horizons are further than that. The biggest thing to take one of is how fast o jects were accelerating towards the black whole and it definitely seemed slower than I how things accelerate towards earth so he was actually likely very very far away.

Nolan’s letting it draw him in he’s visibly only moving a few inches per second.

This is the big thing here, the gravity at that location appeared to be weaker than on earth where you’d accelerate about 10 meters per second.

I noticed at first but his voice blends well with the character, I couldn’t imagine anyone else voicing him now lol.
