It has to do with NFL rivalries, specifically the AFC rivalry between the broncos and pretty much everyone else in the conference (the baltimore ravens are another competitive afc team). The broncos were really good and played in conference championships and super bowls (relatively) recently, like season 14,15, 16 of sp.
