  • Amazingly, it never sounded forced whereas a lot of American shows sound like the swearing is forced or purposely over the top. I commend the writers for having the dialogue sound so natural.

I don’t know what it is about UK swearing but it never sounds forced and almost a part of the language.

On a side note, not related to the show but the swearing, it’s always amazed me how casual the word cunt is used over there. Growing up, thats always been the one of the most taboo/off limits words to use—right up there with the n word. Like, even typing that word out I’m already worried I’m going to get a angry DM from someone

  • The opening scene with Ted and Rebecca in the kitchen because of the gas leak…look, if there were ticket stubs for the Ted/Rebecca hooking up bandwagon, I’d have ticket no1 & no2.

But that whole scene just seemed out of character for everyone, it was the only time I ever felt like the writers were lazy about throwing us viewers off. Not once before had there been that awkward sexual tension between them and then BAM out of left field they can’t make eye contact and talk about last night just because Beard and Jayne were bumping uglies?

To your point OP, Beard sitting on the counter and leaving a mess in the guest bedroom of someone they have shown he respects, seemed wildly out of character; even for someone as eccentric as Beard

Beards weeding takes place in the dream Ted is having while on the flight back to Kansas. That’s why seemingly everyone from the whole series is there and the entire scene is a bit overexposed.

Only reason I know this is because Brendan Hunt talked about it in his AMA after the final episode aired. Cheers my friend!
