The authors sister released a companion album at the same time. It’s by Poe, and the album is called Haunted. It’s a wonderful album and the theme is heavily focused on death, loss, and grieving. I found comfort in it when I lost someone. You may too.
The book is definitely one of a kind. I liked it, but I’ll probably never muster up the energy to ever tackle it again. It’s… quite something.
I’m sorry you lost your mom.
She literally asked for a hug and his response was “in not going to do that”. She’s obviously got problems, but this scene changed how I view her. She used her words well (at first) and clearly stated that she’d suffering emotionally and needs some help/ support. He completely ignored what she was telling him and basically told her to just gtfo. If I were her, I’d gtfo. I see why she wants to stay with her husband, but at this point, it’s obvious he lied to her about what their life together would be. It’s fraud, really. I feel bad for her.
