Because Viltrumites are generally a lot stronger and faster than they are durable. Sure, Nolan can fly so fast nuclear chain reactions happen behind him, but another Viltrumite (or any entity of similar power levels) can just fuck chop through his whole body with their arm if and when they so desire. At that point, blocking is just inefficient.

Viltrumites can destroy a planet by punching through its core, and cause nuclear reactions by flying real fast. I don’t think the Jedi (the majority of whom struggle to levitate rocks and often are stopped by reasonably-large blastdoors) are a real challenge.

Personally I’m just hoping they’ll keep her (and, tbh, also William) around after the breakup.

No joke this is like one of the many scenes I am kinda looking forward to watching on the series. I crack up every time I read the comics and reach these bits.
