1 year agoI see the books I choose to keep physical copies of not just as an opportunity to reread whenever I want, but as a decor piece and sometimes, a conversation piece. A friend comes over, has a look at my shelf, “oh I read hat, what did you think of x part” or “oh I’ve been meaning to read that/it looks interesting/etc” and I can offer to loan it to them or points on why they specifically may or may not like it. Or they see what I’ve got and might recommend me something based on what they see there! It’s nice.

I read the Hollander translation and loved it but I did an entire class on it at college so it was a very academic exercise.
