I think one thing that makes their arc so interesting is that very question… by all accounts they spent many lifetimes together in love & happiness, rainbows and sunshine and stuff. if we could live on this world for ages with the person we love most but eventually and inevitably it was going to end when one of us did something horrible enough would it be worth it?
There might be some changes from the comic.
A good example of Darkblood, who was only a joke role who was made into something even Omniman was warry of in the show. And considering this guy fought the guardians of the globe and also darkblood had such a bad reptuation that he could ahve gotten away with attacking and killing him… implies darkblood was somethnig that omniman was actually afraid of tackling on his own.
Could be for all that robot is gonna do there will be more to it.

I could have seen it that way but him killing off a bunch of heroes (RIP Shapesmith) to accomplish his goals will never sit right with me.
One thing that really got me about the first episode was philanthropist Cecil, telling Mark to stay out of the game for his own good. Lmao. Sure buddy, because suddenly Cecil is going to let the strongest man on the planet lounge around and focus on high school.
