You could read that as him correcting himself from accidentally telling the truth that it’s a few weeks away and that he is not able to disclose that yet.

Rex just has a darker complexion and dark hair… he’s just meant to resemble Jason Mantzoukas more. In the comic he was just more fair in appearance.

Amber just isn’t that important of a character, nobody is attached to a particular image of her so most people don’t really care if it’s changed. If they made Atom Eve look different would probably be a different matter.

Personally I’m picky on details so the fact that Monster Girl has dark brown instead of light brown hair and that half the characters have imo ugly bangs bothers me way more than anyone’s skin tone changing.

Rex is just made to look more like Jason Mantzoukas who has a darker skin complexion, but it does go to show how antiquated these concepts of race are.

I think part of the reason they don’t is because they want the show to be taken more seriously as a drama than the comic and having people talk about “T n A” detracts from that.

That said I think it should be the same amount in the comic, where its ok to have “sexy” and raunchy stuff up to PG-13. Anything more doesn’t really fit the tone and looks silly animated imo anyway, but when they go way less like they do in the show it also looks deliberately prudish. Like Amber wearing a baggy sweater in August at college? No heavily implied same sex relationship for War Woman? The one that actually bothers me the most so far is Atom Eve’s outfit, not only because it’s something her father would make her do, but because if they wanted to make her cover up they should have just gone full length, the shorts just look stupid and makes her look like an adolescent.

Aesthetically the comic is great if that’s important to you, the compendium will get what you need, the other options are mostly extras for the bigger fans.

The art improves significantly over the first several dozen issues, and occasionally takes a step back in the opinion of many people when the original artist occasionally fills in for a few issues here and there. You’ll see.

It is weird. I think sex is okay to them, just being sexy isn’t ok. Like Amber gonna have sex with Mark, but she’s gonna seduce him in a baggy sweater from 1992 she’s wearing in the middle of August.

These aren’t regular Thraxans on the right they were for a very specific purpose. The regular ones were more modest in appearance and dress.

Overthinking it a little bit. It’s not really clear how close he was or how big it is. When you’re far enough away it’s just another large object in the universe.

Once he left Mark at the end of season 1 and sheds a tear I would say he could not go back to being seen as the villain.

I like character development but this was an episode where we needed more Viltrumites fighting and less Debbie and Donald.

Mark explicitly says in the comic he doesn’t forgive Nolan.

I gotta think we are gonna get the remaining scenes from the trailer which included the Lizard League vs Rex Kate and shrinking Rae. But Eve is also going to be featured and the rest of the Guardians need to get off planet too in this episode so it’s going to be a lot to squeeze in.

Sounded like part of the original score by John Paesano to me… Amazon released some of it on youtubes for season 1 so maybe they will again eventually for season 2.

By the way the Viltrumites leitmotif they started in this episode and was in his part was awesome and reminded me of the Locnar theme from Heavy Metal which is fitting.

Yeah I’m not sure how much self awareness they actually have though… this gag is from the comic but there’s a lot of stuff from the comic they cut out clearly uncomfortable or forbidden by Amazon from showing… yet it’s sister show The Boys as Kirkman points out has people walking into dicks.

I asked the showrunner and effectively the answer was that he is still fine tuning his new setup, and that we would see it evolve over time.

And Monster Girl getting the tickets instead of Rudy. It’s a common theme that’s wearing thin and really patronizing imo.
