I am rewatching the first season on Amazon in preparation for the second season. Haven’t read the comic book yet.

Please don’t spoil anything else about the series for me. But, does Omni-Man allow himself to be hurt when fighting the Guardians to provide an alias for himself? Or did they actually hurt him enough to go into a coma? I feel like, if he exerted himself like he did with the Flaxans’ planet (at the end of episode 2), he would have easily eviscerated them all in no time flat.

I know consistency is not a strong point in comics. But I like the heroes’ strengths/power levels to be consistent.

Nolan taking damage from the Guardians while easily destroying the flaxans doesn’t automatically mean that their powers are inconsistent. It’s completely possible that the flaxans are much weaker than the strongest member of the Guardians.

Robert Kirkman does not really give a shit about consistency in characters “power levels,” the narrative typically takes precedence over those concerns. I noticed people that follow some anime stuff are obsessed with that kind of consistency but it’s just not important to this kind of story.

      Not into anime.

And yes, I know Stan Lee said the same thing. It doesn’t matter about powers, it’s who the writer wants to win.

But sometimes it is infuriating. Like when Peter Parker would let Kingpin beat him up. Or Batman pose a real threat to Superman. It’s just not believable.

When a man can stop an asteroid the size of Texas, 7 superheroes should be a breeze.

This question can’t be answered without spoilers, lmao. The ass beating they gave him is definitely consistent with their abilities given their state of prep
