Omni man was a lot more brutal in his fight with Mark in the show than in the comics, like to the civilians caught in the crossfire. In the comics, if I recall, he only killed a few people, but in the show he killed the people on the train, the cruise ship, and the avalanche, a LOT more people. Do you guys think they should take the show in a different direction and not have debby and nolan get back together? Considering how much more violent he was, I honestly think they should. Could she really forgive him after all the crap he did in the show? Maybe in the comics it made more sense but in the show idk i feel like they made Nolan too brutal if they planned on them getting back together. Whatchu guys think

That’s not fair because you’d also have to admit they shouldn’t have gotten back together in the comics as well considering that he spent thousands of years slaughtering alien civilizations and not just humans, just because she hasn’t seen them doesn’t mean she won’t care about all the other people he killed.

I really hope they make her take months to forgive him instead of like a couple hours. It needs to be much harder for her. By all accounts she shouldn’t have forgiven him at all. I get why Mark could get over it because that’s his dad, but Debbie was just way too forgiving in the comics

I think people just have their perception warped because the show went out of their way to show the casualty rate. Yes the comics didn’t show the body count caused by Nolan and Mark’s fight but how it affected the people of Earth and Mark were still shown.

We still get villains like Powerplex made from the fallout, Cecil pointing out Nolan still killed more than the likes of DA Sinclair, Darkwing etc., justifying the earpiece weapon because of what Nolan did, Debbie’s breakdown and coming to terms with the idea Nolan never loved her and proud Mark isn’t like him.

I don’t see any reason they can’t play out similar to the comics. Hell, from memory she didn’t take him on right away, she had the year of the Viltrumite War to dwell over it. I could see the show spending some time showing how over the course of the year she was wiling to give Nolan a chance.

I think they should change it and I think it’s possible that they actually do. Show Nolan’s actions were more heinous and Show Debbie is more independent and has a stronger will.

Nolan almost killed her son, killed her friends, killed hundreds to thousands of innocent people, and had a baby with someone else that he basically dumped on her to raise. How the hell is there any way to come back from that?

Instead of getting back together like nothing happened, they could just agree to be civil with each other. It’s not like having them bang nonstop on the spaceship was necessary to drive the plot.

I’m fine with Debbie not forgiving Nolan cuz her forgiving him wasn’t too much of a big thing in the book.

But Mark forgiving Nolan 100% has to happen cuz it’s very substantial to the plot.

No, what would be better is if he proved himself to her as a completely different person, for example he could nearly sacrifice his life for one mere human. There’s a way to get them back together, hell it happened in the comics and she knew how much of a monster he was despite his actions not being as vicious there and they still got back together.
