There are times in the show where MPB seems like he’s very emotionally mature, almost the voice of reason when talking to one of the characters. Then there are times where either the butt of the joke or just really good at playing stupid. From his word plays, to his scatter brained ideas with Todd, to the crew neck/v neck discussion with Bojack. I think it’s just hard to know how to take his character

    I don’t think it’s necessarily an act, he just puts a positive spin on everything. He’s not stupid, he just wants to be happy, and he wants to make other people around him happy. To the detriment of himself and his relationships.

    Fun fact, Mr. PB (okay, the voice actor) has a cameo in Community where he plays a gay man who hits on Abed in a bar, connecting over nerdy sci fi shows from the 90s.

    Just like todd, todd is generally considered “slow” like not knowing an amusement park (Disneyland) existed in the state he would become governor of, or forgetting to do his literal job as head of ad sales at what-time-is-it-right-now.com by not selling the ad time. Or any one of his ideas for PB living. Or unplugging the master cable at ‘Hollywoo Celebs What Do They Know? Do They Know Things? Lets find out!’ To plug in a panini press. But he has very smart moments too like where he tells bojack he can’t keep blaming others for his own actions and that hes the problem in his own life. I guess most of the characters can have moments of sheer stupidity, even princess carolyn when shes dating vincent who is obviously 3 kids in a jacket.

      Riiiiight, he was super honest when he took credit for stealing the D, or when he cheated multiple times on Pickles, or when he promised Diane he wouldn’t surprise her and did it constantly 😅

    I think he’s just got adhd to an extent that makes him come across less unaware than he actually is. But then again I say adhd but like others have pointed out. It does seem to be the golden labs personality trait just exaggerated in the show
