When I was a kid, I used to re read entire series all the time, especially when I got a little older, but still read slightly below my level, I’d knock out a book or 2 per day

Now, I’m averaging about 2 books a month, this year I’m at like 2.5, but I have so much queued up to read, I feel like I can’t re read anything. I would love to revisit some stuff, I’ve got a shelf of my favorites that I stare at but I’m using all my free time to (happily) read new books. How do you all do it?

Same as any other book. You either make time for it or you don’t. When you were a kid you probably had near-zero responsibilities outside of going to school.

Maybe if you re-read something you love, it might re-kindle your interest in reading again? There are some books I go back to periodically, especially when I’m feeling low

Audiobooks have made a huge difference. I don’t have the reading time I had when I was younger and read 847 books per day. Now when I’m walking, driving, cleaning, cooking, I listen to audiobooks.

I still pull out something special on paper when I’m on holiday.

Hi, this is basically a remix of the very common topic on here of how to read more. I would suggest using the search bar or checking out our FAQ on the sidebar!

I re-read the 14 book Wheel of Time series. And I used wiki for any sections I didn’t feel like reading. Won’t leave any spoilers but some character POVs are not my favorite so I’d skip.

Weirdly enough, I’ve never actually read the same book twice. I’ve been an avid reader since about age 7. For me personally, part of the charm of books is experiencing the story for the first time/reading plot twists and having your mind blown. The thought of rereading a book and already knowing how it’s going to end isn’t appealing to me. I know on a reread I could pick up on things I might have missed the first time, especially in a very lengthy book, but idk I’ve just never reread any books before lol. Once is enough for me. There’s nothing wrong with being drawn to newer books you haven’t read before because it’s exciting to dive into a new story. Leave your old books on the shelf and if you run out of new books to read, then pick up whatever old book you’re drawn to reread
