I feel like it might be obvious but I think with the pacing of the show they’re leading up to this moment being the cliffhanger of the episode for the finale.

    Way too soon, Mark hasn’t even gone to Africa yet or established Oliver living with Debbie. The end of episode 4 will be Nolan being taken away for execution telling Mark to read his books.
