When I see the way Kimberly acts, specifically the covering her ears, screaming, and going from a 0 to 10 like the flick of a switch, I sit here wondering if this is truly who she is or just an acting scheme.
If she is truly like that the girl needs some serious help (in my opinion). It just seems like she can’t handle anything. Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely situations in which she has been done dirty by lack of translation or insight into what’s going on.
Opinions, please: is she acting, or is this really who she is?
I think it’s similar to when you know you’re getting your picture taken vs. a candid. You still look like you, but you’re more conscientious about how you’re presented.
She seems to have a problem with emotional regulation that hasn’t really been addressed, which comes out more in times of stress or when she feels unheard. A lot of people struggle with this if they’re not taught to regulate how they feel/express themselves in situations when they are younger, they just don’t go on television lol.
Maybe it’s just the problem of being lied to and gashlighted from even before she showed up. Maybe that’s people were allowed to bring cowshit and and cow piss into her kitchen. All done with no explanation.
You know being gasiighted like that can drive you nuts. I so wish she wouldn’t have stayed. She’s not acting- she’s being abused.
It reminds me of a lot of what was publicized around the Gabby Petito murder. She was reacting very emotionally in front of the police officers, but it was the result of being lied to and abused in a relationship for a long time. Someone messing with your head often leads to you overreacting and having emotional outbursts. I wouldn’t say she was fully stable before getting into this marriage, but he has intentionally lied to her and put her in horrible situations.
I was just going to say–I’d flip my fucking shit if I moved across the world to marry someone who just…OOPS! didn’t tell me about literally fucking anything. People familiar with TJ’s family’s beliefs here have stated time and time again that they are VERY cult-y and rural and this is not something you’d be able to just Google (and let’s be real, Googling something isn’t the same as someone who is intimately familiar with it explaining it to you!). TJ has said MULTIPLE times that he doesn’t tell her things because it’s “too hard” like with the wedding ceremonies. Oops, forgot to tell her she’d be expected to be up by 6 to serve my entire family. Oops, forgot to tell her that me and my grown ass brother sleep in the same bed as mom. Oops, forgot to tell her she can’t cook with garlic and onions in her own home. Oops, forgot to tell her we wipe our pans with rags we put on cow shit.
Like, what do some of y’all want her to do? I’m not saying the way she’s acting is totally okay, but I can at least understand it in many of these circumstances. TJ seems to be getting a pass simply because he comes across as the “calm” one when he’s a terrible communicator and so incredibly passive and allows his mother and brother to bully him and Kim.

Yes, you can’t Google search about this. But you can Google search people from that culture that may advise her on what to expect. A simple Google search would tell you that typical Indian women are submissive and handle house duties. This should’ve been her cue to do her own research as to what she’s getting into by talking to more people from that culture. She was on a student visa in India way before all of this anyway so she had the opportunity to meet those people with a translator multiple times.
yeah but then she’d take it back to TJ to ask if shed have those same expectations, but he would just tell her not to worry about it or avoid telling her the truth, as he made clear that the lack of informing her was an intentional choice.
