When mark comes back after the time reset and eve confesses that during the five years he was gone she eventually dated someone else.
I honestly think its understandable her doing it and humanizing for mark that he understood and forgave her. The man had disappeared with no sign for five years and everybody thought he died while she was alone in space with their daughter.
…I don’t think the internet is gonna see it that way and I’m scared about the wave of “those” opinion pieces for just way too damn long.
You guys know the ones
I’m not looking forward to the reboot at all, I get how the timeskip is important but I didn’t like it all.
I thought it was very important for Mark as a character. He chose his daughter over a better world. I love that
It’s his first step to realizing being a hero ain’t worth it.
You might even say it’s bullshit
It can be an important character moment and still be kinda sucky. I hate that he disappears for 5 years. It always felt to me like it was a cop out of him raising a baby.
Not me. He can make another daughter.
He can breed another planet too. He’d have plenty of time.
What’s another 5 years?
But not her.
I know a lot of people feel this way too and I think they’re gonna change it up quite a bit when they do it in the show, I’m kinda looking forward to reboot cause I strongly doubt it’ll be worse
The entire plot before the time skip is actually really fun. Especially for how long it’ll take for them to get there it’ll be a nice throwback. But the 5 year shit is so unbelievably dumb and causes nothing but issues. It’s probably the singular worst plot of the series
I’m almost certain they won’t do it. They’ve changed other parts of the story for the better and I imagine they’ll find a way to do the time skip without the reboot
probably the only narrative complaint I have with the whole series. honestly felt like a waste of time.
Me either. Def not part of the story I’m looking forward to. But the stuff that comes after it is great.
Seems like the reboot is such a cop out way to fast forward toward the ending
They could do it differently. It’s kind of necessary because certain events require a time skip to occur properly.
It is I think at its core an interesting concept, it’s just so randomly executed. The tentacle thing seems malevolent, but it’s never explicitly addressed.
The writers of the show have shown they are good at spinning and changing things a bit usually for the better. So hopefully they make this part maybe a little better.
