The show started off ok it wasnt a special introduction but it was and has been omni man who always oushined everyone else, which in it of itself is already bad but mark and his mom were also decent characters until they started just dragging the show with boring cringy dialogue and relationships between the already boing characters.

If you can make it theough the extremely corny part of the show you will see one of the best conclusions to a first season of all time and it all immediatly goes to shit once mark meets omni man again on the bug planet and everything about nolan completely falls apart, all that amazing development goes to shit in 1 episode. Not keeping the tension and completely changing a character from villain to hero in the matter of 1 episode and even worse through a timeskip and not showing the need for long struggle for such a change to occur is the biggest wet fart on the viewers face. Also not having mark and omni man rematch is just

Like sfinney, said. A lot of Nolan’s development was already underway and pretty much teased from his intial disdain about finding out Mark had powers. Leading up to him leaving Earth because he could go through with killing imhis son and ended up abandoning his post, the sole reason he went to Earth in the first place, because he had fundamentally changed. Thus no reason he would want a rematch with Mark.

As for the character criticism Nolan is obviously important to the story of Invincible, but Mark is firmly the main character so we’ll always be viewing events from his pov most the time with exceptions like Allen’a story. Its a coming of age story for him so if you don’t like the “cringey” dialogue and relationships it’s probably not the show for you going forward.

He didnt kill him in season 1. Did you forget the last scene of their fight? He was even crying in space ( all in season 1).

Earth changed him otherwise he would have killed Mark and made another baby like the other Viltrums do. He even tried to keep Mark and Debbie if possible and killed the Guardians “in secret”.

oh what amazing development some flashbacks and him crying cause he almost killed his son after not giving a fuck about thousands of people. And then a lazy timeskip of being becoming good

Thing is - what could you possibly want from a rematch? Sure, Mark could win - but what would we, or the characters, gain or lose from it? Changing the dynamic to what it is now is far more interesting.

The rematch just like before would be a good conflict of ideologies and way more character development for mark and a more dramatic switch to a hero from omni man, so lazily changing omni man is not interesting its stupid
