wait, he’s fightning with immortal ?
I wasn’t here for episode 8 but it seemed like a great adaptation of the comics where the changes made sense, how was the comic readers reaction at this moment ?
mark reaction in the show is a bit short sighted and I’m surprised nolan didn’t pick up on it.
He acts like nolan actions wasn’t following orders and>! didn’t start a war against his own kind just to spare his son’s life. the war that will ultimately KILL him. Well mark doesn’t know that yet of course.!<
oliviers life isn’t in danger because nolan made a baby, that’s an idiotic take. these intebreeding rules are vultrimite bs, they don’t need to be respected. and that’s not why he’s being pursued in the first place.
Honestly I don’t know what happened. I know some of the voice acting was made directly on zoom because of covid, so that doesn’t help, but still.
I had the same feeling, but thought it has to be the writers. I think the dialogues are very dumbed down compared to the comics. for exemple “you deserve death” “I know” like how can you work with this ?
I don’t think you realise how fast 10m can go in america’s economy. I don’t think it’s comparable to japanimation. the way titmouse functions is very different.
I think in some ways the animation is better than in season 1, and is some ways it’s not.
first, they hired a bunch of color artists, which I follow on instagram; that’s why the image look so cinematic and vibrant in s2. https://www.instagram.com/yoshivuart/
lots of visual developement too. the blackhole on episode 4, the galaxy that allan goes through, The sun shining a deep light when he gets attacked by the vultrimites. all that need pre production artists that design these things.
The acting look very nice to me. But I think the season 1 battles were better.
And It’s the responsability of 2D line animators, and it’s really expensive to fully animate 1 shot.
in thraxa’s fight they use a lot of pseudo animation to save budget.
. and the blood isn’t as well animated. But still a lot of work from character designers goes into how they get hurt. https://www.instagram.com/p/C0CxCk9v8RD/?img_index=2
10 millions for a 50 minutes animation episodes, well explains a lot
it may seem like a lot, but it’s just not enough for the scope their aiming. Well I hope as season 2 debuts with 3 time more views they get more budget.
“what, you thought being a vultrimite was easy ?”
but isn’t nolan getting his spine shattered and captured enough of a cliffhanger ? donald and debbie aren’t going anywhere
oh, you’re right, it’s to show cecil manipulative behaviour that will culminate with him and mark fighting. I didn’t think it would happen so soon. too many plot to fit in 8 episodes, that’s the problem.
can’t wait for eve to be absolutely obliterated by mark.
As I’m watching post, I’m thinking about something. Season 2 production happened before atom eve’s special production right ?
So maybe it being better it’s a result of the team getting better, and having more budget, so we can expect similar quality to atom eve’s special going foward ? I’m high on copium, I know.
It’s probably more possible that atom eve’s special had it’s own budget and production as a single epeisode. so it was more polished and just better. especially the animation in the final fight which was insane. just licked a tiny bit of gruesomeness and gore.
Love the debbie and art scene: great writing out of nowhere
nolan has superpower, he’s indestructible, that’s not strength, he’s having it easy
guess it was more important to show donald figuring out he’s a robot for 15 minutes
yep, guess we’ll have to settle for this. i’m a bit depressed. imagine if it was to the standard of season 1 episode 8
was there a reason for this episode to not be exclusively about thraxxa ? the scenes about debbie and donald didn’t seem crucial to me. I don’t understand this naration where they alternate between these scenes. Seems to remove a bit of the epicness and drama.
OLIVER IS HERE
i’d still have you, patrick
