I have just started watching the family chantel and I believe the reason their marriage fell apart is because Chantel doesn’t hold herself to the same standards that she holds Pedro to. I was beyond disgusted when she took the money out of the account when Pedro moved out. He doesnt have any family in the US so she basically left him completely helpless. If Pedro did the same to her she would be fine because she has a family who she can run to and get food and shelter. He doesnt. She always holds it over his head that he isnt a citizen which is disgusting. Her family pretty much always takes her side no matter what. Even when shes wrong. Her mother is overbearing and dramatic and the father is a push over. Chantel wants the same relationship with Pedro that was modeled by her parents. Where she is the princess and her husband is the servant. The issue of her coming home and cleaning up was so petty because she was home 4 days a week. Why would you not clean up and cook. I can understand the first 2 days but all 4 days is completely lazy. Chantel is spoiled, entitled, and a bitch to say the least. Her family is toxic and live through her. She played victim the whole time when truthfully pedro was the real victim. I do not believe he married her for citizenship. Chantel is absolutely stunning and brilliant and i think thats what he wanted from her. She was never capable of supporting him emotionally and even when she would cry it was always so fake. It’s obvious that she lacks compassion and empathy. She’s a liar, manipulative, and vengeful. I believe pedro flipped because of her behavior from day 1. I believe hes a pure heart with pure intentions dealing with an difficult women.
Obviously its a reality tv show so who knows what goes on in their actual lives. Im just commentating based of the storyline in the show. I fully acknowledge that i do not have a personal relationship with any member on the show.
He could have taken that money and run off as well and he was treating her like crap. Honestly, he deserved it. Chantel isn’t perfect but Pedro was just using her
I can TELL by the way Pedro is acting he 99% cheated. My husband was caught cheating by the other women’s husband and acted exactly like this since the day after he was caught. Angry. Disgruntled. Blaming her for everything. You didn’t show me enough attention blah. I’d take the money before he ran off to the DR with it too.

I think the relationship helped elevate his status but i dont think he was using her. I think if anything she was using him. She kept talking about her fear of abandonment and when someone is not a us citizen it is easy to manipulate them and keep them confined. She repeatedly wielded her authority and supremacy over Pedro. It was so odd to me that she didn’t want his family to come to the us and have no support system outside of her. Anything that could make them equals or give him security she fought so hard against. She wanted to be the only person in the relationship with power and autonomy.
He has a job. He’s not penniless.
He works in real estate. He does not have a steady income. He really doesn’t know when his next paycheck is going to come. Even if he has a job it is unfair to empty the whole account and not just take out her half.

This show just made me depressed a lot when watching it.
Both Chantel and Pedro seem to be intelligent on a booksmart level and I think they both good looking individuals. They just lack emotional intelligence and let their families fuel drama that shouldn’t have ever even existed!
If they had been truthful with their families about their relationship in the beginning, if they had band together instead of leveraging others against one another, they could have been really happy. They both have jobs, it’s not like either one is a bum wanting a free ride.
Pedro was his mother and sister’s little beyotch and allowed them to control him still from the DR. It’s depressing watching 90DF and then this kind of spinoff where families are unsupportive assclowns when it comes to their adult children’s marriages. They got married, respect the fact they clearly loved that person in a profound way to go there. Sigh.
They need to cut their toxic families out or have limited contact. They will never be happy in any relationship, ever. Even if they find someone who will bend over backwards and do whatever they want them to, they’ll find fault.
Reminds me of my friend who has a wonderful partner. Her mother still tries to whine about the partner because he’s doing things one way or another (still doing them but not /her/ way, etc). And thankfully my friend isn’t taking the bait. She defends her dude and refuses to entertain the bullshit. That’s what partnerships do when the inlaws are being destructive eff offs like these two’s families are doing to both of them. They’re getting rag dolled.
