He’s the only one who still wants to really be friends with bojack at the end. His scene where he finally got a crossover episode with Bojack makes me tear up every time.
He’s flawed, but he’s extremely loyal to his friends. Gotta love that.

Alcoholism was really all he had in common with his parents.
A lot of things his mom said were to make her feel superior to Bojack, and absolve herself of any guilt for being emotionally unavailable his entire life. Beatrice had a lot of trauma to explain her mindset, but she had many opportunities to break the cycle and not pass on her bitterness to her son. She just didn’t care enough to try.
Even in death, Sarah Lynn was only shown as how Bojack thought of her. He imagined everything that happened to her was directly due to his influence, and all of the good and bad things that happened to her was his fault.
In reality, she had an entire life without him after the show and only faded in and out of Bojack’s life during brief periods of turmoil. Maybe Bojack had some initial influences on her, but she was undoubtedly way more messed up by her child molesting step-father, her greedy and uncaring mother, and the entertainment industry that continually used and abused her. I think she would have wanted to be remembered as more than how she affected Bojack’s world.
I found this interview where the creator said he didn’t even know what Bojack’s middle name is, just that he knew it started with an F.
So I guess the middle name is whatever we want it to be. After watching the “Stupid Piece of Sh!t” episode, I believe Bojack just considers his middle name to be “fvcking piece of sh*t”.
