It blew my mind when she said all she wanted was a hug and to be told hes sorry shes depressed and he said “I will never do that.” Like… wtf??? Who wouldn’t do that for their partner. She’s not even asking for him to solve or change anything. Just hug her goddammit!!!

  • Judging by his self acknowledged lack of social skills, I can almost guarantee he’s not the confrontation type. He’d never kick his mom out. He would most likely continue this exact living arrangement until SHE tired of it and left. The fiance coming may force things, but I don’t see him as the type to push that agenda at all. My experience with hardcore gamers has taught me that gaming is their escape from the uncomfortable realities of life. And he does A LOT of gaming and has since he was a kid living in his mom’s home. That’s how he deals with the situation, not by actively trying to change things.

  • I haven’t heard HIM complain about his finances or the cost of living, or say his finace had to have a co-sponsor so I’m venturing a guess that he’s doing just fine. I don’t blame him for not giving handouts to his mom to move her out. Sadly people who hoard because of mental health issues tend to suck more and more from the people who love them. Getting her her own place could very quickly spiral into him paying her rent, then her Utilities, then buying her groceries, because she is impulse buying with more and more of her money. At least this way he’s in control

I’d also like to add, his living situation otherwise seems pretty typical for a young man whose other priority is gaming. He’s got a small space to maintain, which takes a minimal amount of time, and disposable income for his gaming and pets. It’s a toxic American trait to think that just because you have money, you have to spend it all.
