Don’t forget it was 40k in crypto in African money, so it’s actually about 2,150 in the American dollar. It’s still a big chunk of money over there and was a dumb thing to do, but its not nearly as bad as it sounds. I look at it as the same as the people who get caught up in pyramid schemes, but least he didn’t spend years of his life working on it
Crypto is no doubt stupid af, but people do make money on it - i made $100k USD in 2021. In fact, now is probably the best time to DCA a small amount in every month.
Secret sauce is to not over leverage yourself, only invest what you can afford to lose, and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
