Tbh I’m kinda glad they did that. I watch the show in the living room of my house and I would die of embarrassment if someone saw me watching that

the show has actually cut out a lot of the hornier points from the books, not to say that’s a bad thing per se, but it happens.

From what I remember from the comics it’s pretty much a gag and nothing ever comes of it after it’s wrapped up. As funny as it is there’s more important plot details they’re having to condense

Honestly I was expecting based on the episode title for the fish chick he was going to marry to be smoking hot and then he would have to decide between Amber and big tittied fish girl.

I guess the writers figured Mark’s relationship with Amber has been rocky enough without having to deal with him trying to avoid making sushi.

I have to admit: I’m irrationally upset that they took that subplot out.

they adapted basically everything from the comic to be very politicaly correct in this episode.

[potential spoilers?] I liked that it actually foreshadows one of Mark’s only weaknesses for later. From memory when it turns up in the comic, it is briefly explained via exposition, so having it be shown organically was really cool imo

It’s really an upgrade in terms of writing. The episode wouldnt have time to do fish-sex and the fight, they chose well.

It was really condensed in comparison to the story in the comics, I’m sure Mark is there for a couple of days while the ceremony is being organised and he talks to Lethan about Aquaria

So yeah that’s probably the biggest miss here is that Lethan doesn’t exist but he doesn’t exactly do anything in the comics after marrying Aquaria so they probably thought the sequence in the show could be changed
