I feel like he did this to save face and knows he has savings that can carry him for some time. I also think he calculated how much they get per ep and this is a better yield and doesn’t have to worry about filming issues if he’s working- no proof of any of this but just assumption as I work adjacent in the engineering space and know that this would NOT go over well in that type of work environment

She already lives in a first world country of England, she is already wealthy as she claims, so what is it she is after then? Fame? Reality show career? Something isn’t adding up.

I think she grew up with some level of “new” money and her living in different countries, combined with new money help or gifts when she was younger, gives him this chip on his shoulder that he’s also using against her. I think the producers are pushing this angle because otherwise, they have nothing to argue about other than he’s an asshole.

I really wish people would stop acting like US citizenship is some kind of prize for people coming from other first world countries. We’re a third world country wearing a Gucci belt, I’d much rather live in the UK than here, frankly, and I’m solidly middle class. They showed Sophie in her very nice apartment in the UK and she seems to do just fine as an “influencer” so I doubt her goal is to get her greencard so she can claw her way out of poverty in her home country. I think she just wants to become famous (D list 90 day famous would suffice) so she’s using Rob for the show. I really HOPE that’s the case, because there’s no other objective reason why anyone would date that douche.

See, I disagree! Remember Fernanda and Jonathan, how she cried continuously over him having to work and her be alone? Hell, we’ve seen it many times, most recently with Mercy on 90DayUK, and Jasmine is 100% that type of person. If Gino has started leaving for work every day, I guarantee you Jasmine would have been upset and lonely very quickly. We’ll won’t know now, but in any case, Gino is not living paycheck to paycheck, he could comfortably retire now, he just wanted to work longer and save more. He’s not risking them being homeless or anything quitting the job, but what Jasmine did, especially considering the fact that the money was specifically sent for a wedding dress AND that Gino had SPECIFICALLY said no to butt implants when they discussed it, is much worse to me. I think he genuinely had Jasmine in mind when he took the leave though, he knows how she is.

Okay I’m glad I’m not the only one who picked up on that. There have been many times my husband is too tired to have sex from work and I leave him tf alone. I don’t understand his entitlement to having sex with her just because he did an embarrassing dance in the airport, a shitty proposal, fought with her and told her he couldn’t stand her minutes after proposing and telling her she’s “ruining the vibe”, they eat dinner, he acts like where they live is safe. He should’ve used the money for the ring to get a better apartment; and get a steady job. Then the “icing” is pressuring her into sex after she’s been on a plane for two days. I’m only 30 minutes in to the third episode and I already hate him

THANK YOU for bringing this up…and acknowledging that it is NOT ok for your partner to badger you and pressure you into having sex - after you have told them “no, not now”, “I’m tired”, “I’m jet lagged”, “I just wanna go to sleep”. When Sophie recounted that story about having sex with Rob and how she finally gave in… my heart sank. Sophie tried to give the story a cute spin, by saying it took Rob 5 minutes to unbutton her pajamas…but I felt horrified.

Then they show Rob grinning in his confessional - saying the sex was the “icing” on the cake. THIS IS NOT OKAY. Regardless of gender or relationship status, if someone tells you that they don’t feel like having sex, you respect that. Period. No pressuring. No coercion. No guilt tripping. Being in a relationship does not give your partner “all access” to your body, whenever they want. Without boundaries or limitations.

I’m not saying Rob is a monster or a predator. I don’t know these people in real life and I know this show is heavily edited. HOWEVER, I think Rob gets away with A LOT and might think most rules don’t apply to him… because of how good looking he is. He’s not used to hearing (or comprehending) the word “NO”. I have an ex boyfriend who looks soooo much like Rob and his scenes with Sophie are triggering AF. I was super young and I felt like I should just be grateful that such a gorgeous man wanted to be my boyfriend. He was emotionally and physically abusive. Super controlling. Never respected any of my boundaries… BUT all my friends, family, even strangers would constantly comment on how handsome my boyfriend was and I “better not let him go”. To the point that I tolerated so much abuse because I felt lucky to just be his girlfriend. None of my boundaries were respected, especially in bed. Consent meant nothing to him.

I hope everyone watching this show knows that consent before sex is non-negotiable… pressuring your partner into sex is not ok. Whether they are a drunk stranger you just met OR your sober spouse of 25 years. If somebody tells you they’re not comfortable having sex in that moment, you need to be a good human being and respect their wishes. Period. Pressuring them until they finally give in to having sex is not “icing on the cake”… it looks a lot like non-consensual sex. In my opinion.
