Ok so as someone with a 5 year degree in Architecture from the Philippines and handled multiple projects from small scale residential in the province to high rise condo towers in the city, that house is nowhere near USD50-60k. It is at best php 1m.
They already said on the show that it wasn’t dollars, but in local currency.

Why does this constantly come up? He said he sent her all the money he made and lived off of a small “allowance” that he gave himself. From what I recall, he worked on a landscaping crew and did odd jobs. It is pretty easy to send $2k per month to your gal when you are living off of a pittance, all while being gainfully employed.

I agree with your estimate, I believe it’s roughly around 10k USD or so (I think 1m php is very generous, given the state of the house), which is way more acceptable than what he mentioned. No idea why he would even say that, unless it was a producer or just Bran being a donut.
A Youtuber named the Filipina Pea built a house, in Dumaguette, which would cost more than where Mary lives. Pea’s house was between 25 and 30k USD, and it’s a wonderful house. Mary’s house isn’t finished…yet. No way in hell that cost 50 to 60k USD.

Could be part of a common scam. Most recently perpetuated by jasmines butt implants. It’s common that they use the victims money and actually buy something, but what they buy actually cost much less and they pocket the rest or more often spend it. “This is what I’ve spent all the money on!”.
And not just in foreign countries. I’m in the US and my elderly neighbor had a “friend” who would run her errands and do her grocery shopping. Always kept the “change”, which was often more than whatever was purchased.
We need to make a stink to the production team and all boycott the show to make them intervene! Unfortunately money talks in their world. I’m so sad right now!
He sent that amount in in Filipino currency. Dude did not send 50-60k in U.S. currency. There’s no way he would’ve made that amount doing odd jobs in such a short time before leaving. Not to mention he got fired from several of those jobs because of her. Not sure where everyone is getting this 50k U.S. number from as in the episode it clearly states that it was that amount in Filipino currency. More or less I think he sent about $1000-$3000 dollars after exchange rate.

I think OP is more accurate, 60kPHP is too low but 1milPHP which is less than $18kUSD makes more sense.

I have a question and if anyone knows the answer please respond, as every episode they’re on, there’s been something that really confuses me. I don’t understand fully, that if Brandon paid for basically the whole house, why isn’t Mary and her family more grateful? The way they seem to treat him in my opinion, is that he’s on the bottom of the totem pole there and he’s going to be kicked out. He doesn’t seem comfortable there and it’s his own house.
