This sub just reinforces the fact that people don’t have any sort of media literacy or analysis skills

People spoiling themself with 1 panel and deriving shitty conclusions is for shure my least favorite part about comic/manga adaptations

If you are going to read, read the whole thing, if you are going to watch, then wait to see what happens in the episode.

as a person who experienced trauma at the hands of their father, didn’t see him for 7 years, and then saw him unexpectedly one day afterwards, idk if i’m ready to see that moment adapted to television

lol imagine knowing nothing about the comics, looking ahead at one single panel and deeming it not up to your standards. why not just wait to see if you hate it or not. You think it’ll be boom hug everything is good, Omni-man is redeemed? You don’t have a valid point because you don’t know what you’re talking about. Also you don’t think the scene with mark hugging his crying mother meant anything to him?

It’s a normal reaction. So far we haven’t seen mark breaking down.

Omni-Man is a fan favorite which is why you’re getting most of the negative response.

But you’re absolutely right, his redemption arc is kinda rushed. And if you don’t like this, wait till you see what happens between him and Debbie.

If you’re trying to say mark doing this doesn’t make sense you need to work on your media literacy. Nolan was a great father to mark right up until all the atrocities he committed. Mark understanding that and still loving and missing the father he loves is an extremely realistic and human reaction.

I mean….the last thing he said to his dad with his teeth knocked out, barely conscious, and the blood of both himself and hundreds of innocent people on his hands is “i’d still have you Dad after 500 years”

I get what you’re saying and where you’re coming from but you’re looking at it from a more objective outside perspective and not the perspective of a 17/18 year old kid who prior to their fight spent literally every moment looking up to Nolan not only as a father and man to aspire to be like but also a superhero who(once again prior to anything he did in the show) helped and saved people. What he did ruined all trust and perception of his father and also did a metric fuckton of damage to his feelings but at the end of his day….that’s his father. And thats not a bond that breaks so easily seeing as its biologically, evolutionarily, societally, and emotionally predispositioned to

ALSO doesn’t help that life has been in such a extremely weird complicated spot following his fight. He wants to be a hero even more than before not only as to try and make up for what he feels is his fault but also to get away from home(thats now tainted) and seeing his mother absolutely broken by everything. A kid in that spot would most definitely have the thought of “i wish things could go back to the way it was before all of this”

Tl;dr - Yes of course this is what happened next
