  • It also debunks Art’s comment about Nolan lmao

So much this. It was a good thing for a friend to say, but Art basically calling Debbie stronger than Nolan and how she went through so much more right before the man got his spine snapped made me laugh. Don’t get me wrong, Debbie has a lot of shit to deal with too, but it’s a different shade of shit that is no more or less stinky than Mark or Nolan’s pile.
A better writer would have had Art validating her emotions and commending her strength without diminishing Nolan or blowing smoke up her ass. Wait, a better writer already did that, because that’s how it goes down in the comic.

  • I expect they are cutting out >!Eve’s Africa arc !!Eve realizing she couldn’t just hand waive away centuries of tribal warfare and cultural strife!< was a good bit of humbling for a woman that could literally remake the world on a whim. They kind of easy buttoned that lesson when Eve figured out maybe she should have looked into WHY the city never cleared up that lot instead of just assuming she knew better because she’s Atom Eve, but in the end I guess it was the same lesson.

Agree with you completely on the exchange between Nolan and Mark. Comic nailed the complex emotions of that moment, whereas show went straight CW petulant bitch mode with Mark.

See that’s what pissed me off the most about Rudy in this phase: I can understand him wanting to get certain people out of the way as he knew they would fight him, but he just showed he knows how to open interdimensional gateways so why the hell didn’t he do that instead? He could have mapped out hundreds of alt dimensions to send these people to with zero chance of their return, where they could at least live out the rest of their lives not threatening his plans. Instead he chose to violently murder all of them, which destroyed his “oh I’m just doing this for the greater good/Cecil would be proud of me” argument. No, this was him working out his pent up aggression and rage at life and circumstances making his existence a living hell for so long, and now he was finally taking control of everything aggressively as possible.
    Fuck Rudy, enjoy your jar.

  • So just rewatched it and noticed a couple things:

    1. That brunette that was eyeballing Debbie at the meeting and as she left? War Woman’s GF. Wanna bet that doesn’t become a thing?
    2. Ok this series has a weird habit of switching roles between men and women, and damned if it didn’t do it again with Rudy and Monster Girl at the movies. In the comic, Rudy is the one who got a adult to buy the tickets for them but in the show it was Monster Girl. Why the change? The point of this was to show Monster Girl that coldly logical Rudy is cunning and useful, and doesn’t have a total stick up his ass. What’s the point of reversing that? Rudy already had the hots for her, so it’s up to him to get her interested in him and the show writers arbitrarily yeeted it.
