He’s what? 18? Basically nothing in viltrumite timeframe.

Literally gets dominated by Lucan using one finger.

Then he gets his ass beat by Thula, who has hundreds of years of experience minimum, mind you viltrumites get stronger with age, aaand somehow a pep talk allows him to almost kill her? What? Mind you, in the comics this Thula threw down with Battle Beast and walked away alive

power scaling is bullshit, lmao. Just because your stronger than me physically doesn’t mean I can’t give you some nasty fucking injuries

That’s what ruined dragon ball and naruto. Power scaling was the only thing that mattered and technique went out the window a long time ago.

Yeah people can take it to an extreme and that can get annoying too. It’s an aspect of those shows but far from everything about them

a fourth grader can also potentially kill a grown man, doesn’t mean its likely or a plausible outcome at all. and thats basically what the gap should have been here

I kind of agree with you about the whole powerscalong thing, and he DID have help, but he was straight up rocking her shit 1v1 for a while until he decided to hesitate

That’s exactly what was happening in ep 4. Nolan helped in the beginning but then mark beat the shit out of her solo and was to win untill he hesitated. Anything else is a speculation, unless you’re blind or can’t comprehend simple things.

Viltrumites are strong, but they are arrogantly prideful and that is a potent weakness to take advantage of; if they assume you’re inferior they aren’t going to take the fight as seriously. She assumed Mark was beneath her, and once Mark surprised her by removing his own mental limit, it let him take control.

She spent so long tossing him around that she started underestimating him, she got sloppy, so Mark was able to take control of the tempo. As soon as he flinched she turned the tables, and showed she had the ability to end things very quickly, but instead had been messing around slicing him for fun.
She was playing with her food, testing him. “You’re Nolan’s boy, I’ll make this quick” went out the door as soon as Nolan tossed the other fighter at her.

Yeah but it kinda undersells just how strong the veteran viltrumites are. Mark had to fucking work to even be anywhere near their level

Just cause you think it’s bullshit doesn’t mean it is. Otherwise you wouldn’t mind if Nolan got dog walked by Mark last season

Powerscaling in invincible is bs to me because it’s not really much of a focus of the show or comic. Now in anime powerscaling definitely exists. But that’s because there’s a pretty big focus on fights and being stronger than the next guy.

The comics themselves provide an answer for this.

Nolan tells Mark to swing for the fences. If he is lucky enough to land a hit, swing again, and again. He doesn’t win his fight, but he still manages to do some damage.
