In a similar vein to the question posted earlier today, I wanted to know what book reco would you see as a huge green flag when dating, and why?
My answer: Lonesome Dove
Why: It delves into themes of friendship, loyalty, and the complexities of human relationships. If they like the book it tells me they have an understanding of the nuanced dynamics that make human connections meaningful.
Catch-22. Tells me they have a sense of humor, appreciate the absurdity of life and probably aren’t going to be stodgy.
Until they say they don’t kiss on the first date. Not until the 44th. And when you finally make it to the 44th date they raise it to 80.
Hahaha, I would probably still be down. 🤣
That’s the best kind of catch.
i didnt want to kiss anyway, im too busy putting crabapples in my cheeks
Ah man I hated that book
swipes left 😆
Haha, maybe I didn’t understand it at the time. But I found it difficult to read and follow. The humor didn’t resonate with me either.
It is non-linear in places, so that is fair. And yeah, different people have different humor. I enjoy humor that is making fun of how absurd life can be, especially if it is making fun of something that we all accept as normal.
