They cut too much thraxxa content imo, the stuff with donald and debbie felt like padding and more of the same (why didn’t cecil just tell donald they built him back) Also the comic focused more on the thraxxans lifespans, it is the reason why nolan became their leader, and i wish they kept Nolan’s idea to give this planet to them empire to lessen his punishment
Donald was total filler. Not sure why they felt they needed to add his backstory seeing how they’ve been cutting shit out to speedrun the story as is already.
I don’t really mind Donald, but I really don’t want to see any more, Debbie.
Okay, I get it. She’s heartbroken about her lying, cheating husband. Can we please move forward?
I gave 0 shits about Donald’s story would have preferred more Thraxxan content.
They’re planting more bread crumbs to the Mark v Cecil fight it seems. I agree I would have liked to see some of the cut Thraxa stuff though.
All the characters were struggling with the identity that had built up about themselves over the years, and coming to terms with who they really are now.
I wish they gave this Thraxa arc more time to breath and cut Eve and Donald’s part for next episode, we lost the chase with Lucan, the Viltrumite goading Mark about not catching a breath for the reference reference later, Breakdown with Mark asking for Nolan to undo what he did I still wish we had, and was hoping we’d see more of the destruction of Thraxa to emphasise how Nolan was in Mark’s shoes now.
was there a reason for this episode to not be exclusively about thraxxa ? the scenes about debbie and donald didn’t seem crucial to me. I don’t understand this naration where they alternate between these scenes. Seems to remove a bit of the epicness and drama.
it’s common for tv shows that want to leave off on a cliffhanger to have multiple plot lines to kind of show at the end of the cliffhanger. it gives the viewer that much more reason to want to watch again. now instead of wondering about mark and nolan, we wonder about donald, debbie, eve.
but isn’t nolan getting his spine shattered and captured enough of a cliffhanger ? donald and debbie aren’t going anywhere
I agree about the Donald scenes, but I appreciated the parallel scenes with Debbie while Mark was discovering what his dad had been doing.
I would say the Eve scenes probably didn’t need to be in this episode rather than the Debbie scenes.
I agree, i guess they wanted to cover all the characters arcs, but imo they should’ve focused on the most important plot, stay on thraxxa for the entire episode
Debbie is struggling without Nolan… but raising Oliver soon will help. And the Donald stuff is to further show that Cecil will be the big bad this season
oh, you’re right, it’s to show cecil manipulative behaviour that will culminate with him and mark fighting. I didn’t think it would happen so soon. too many plot to fit in 8 episodes, that’s the problem.
Angstrom Levy is already said to be the big bad of this season. If anything, Cecil v Mark will be season 3 material.
To show watchers Donald might appear to be one in a long line of clones or human-bots with fake memories and this is the first one to realise.
But the debbie stuff felt way to repetitive
